William R. Bonnell, Founding Partner

Bill Bonnell has over 25 years experience as an advisor to senior management, helping build and reshape organizations and participating in key management planning and staffing decisions throughout the insurance and financial services industries.

Bill has consulted and trained executives in improving organizational performance, the selection process and the development of management competency models. He is a consultant, advisor, and continuing student of the personal characteristics that promote leadership and management success. He was President of Bonnell Associates Ltd., Norwalk, Connecticut (bonnellassociates.com), a management consulting and executive search firm serving clients throughout the United States and internationally since 1991.

Career Highlights - His earlier career included consulting with the Organization and Executive Search practice of Ernst & Young. Bill also held various senior management positions with ITT Financial Services Europe and Hartford Insurance Group in the United States and in Europe during ITT’s highest growth period where he successfully recruited and developed executive teams at ITT World Headquarters, Hartford Europe Inc. and Hartford Financial. Later, as Vice President Executive Development at Merrill Lynch and Senior Vice President Human Resources at European American Bank and Equicor-Equitable/HCA Corporation, he helped to build and improve these management organizations.

Education - BA in Economics from Drew University, attended the London School of Economics, University of London, and MBA in Management from New York University where he studied under Peter Drucker.

Memberships/Associations - Bill is active with the Leader to Leader Institute (formerly the Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management) which brings together thought leaders from business, education and government with leaders of social sector organizations and evaluates finalist candidates for the Francis Hesselbein Community Innovation Fellows Program. Member: International Insurance Society, Inc. (IIS), International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruiting (IACPR), The British-American Chamber of Commerce (BACC), The Turnaround Management Association (TMA), and IRC Recruitment.
